An illustrator is not a cheaper painter. Choose visual language for the job: publishing, editorial, wedding portraiture, stationery, decorative print, or brand systems. Hire the portfolio you can see, not a stereotype about patterns.

A usable brief names audience, format, dimensions, deadline, deliverables, concept and revision rounds, text, usage territory, duration, exclusivity, credit, cancellation, and payment. Owning a print does not transfer copyright. Do not request a clone of another living artist’s style.

2. Send one brief to two finalists.
3. Agree revisions and kill fees.
4. Proof bilingual text separately.
5. Collect files after licences match the invoice.

Unlimited revisions are usually unpaid overtime. Archive files with invoices. If a wedding postpones, reopen the brief.
